What to Do with Old Lightbulbs
Once our lighting fixtures at home reach the end of their life, what do we do with them? Most people will just throw them away. But there are actually so many things that we can do with them. Here are some projects you might want to do with old lighting fixtures:
1.Terrarium place cards
One unique idea you can try if you like hosting parties or just having intimate dinners at home is making terrarium place cards. Use the small bulbs to make a mini terrarium and then use them as place cards to identify the seating arrangement of your guests. This would be perfect for fancy or casual dinners.
2.Turn them into mini vases.
Hollow out the bulbs and then turn them into mini vases for your table centrepieces. Just put cut flowers and display them individually or put them together on a plate to make for a festive centerpiece.
3.Turn them into a glass sculpture.
If you are into serious DIY stuff, you can collect your old lightbulbs and piece them together for an artfully arranged glass sculpture that can become a conversation starter in your home.
Not in the mood for repurposing? You can recycle your lighting fixture instead. Many people don’t know how to recycle their old lightbulbs but you can actually take them to recycling centers such as McLaren Lighting. They accept all sorts of lights such as LEDs, CFLs, fluorescent lights, UV lights, UHP lights, halogen bulbs, and many more. They also accept all sorts of lighting fixtures so you can take your unwanted ones to them.
